5 Minute Makeup

Last night as I was being rushed out the door to go to dinner, I was inspired for my next blog post. Although I was dressed, I had absolutely no makeup on. As I quickly swiped on a few products I thought to myself that I should share my “in-a-rush” routine. So, here we have the 5 minute makeup routine, using only FIVE products.

Whether rushing to class or work or wherever you may be going, foundation just is not an option. It takes way too long to put on. And of course if you do try to rush it, the end result isn’t pretty. Instead, I stick with a primer (tinted moisturizer is also a good option). Right now the primer I’m using is bareMinerals brightening primer. I’ve mentioned before that I love bareMinerals makeup and this primer does not disappoint; I love the slight glow it gives my face.

After applying primer, I use another bareMinerals product, the stroke of light eye brightener. Through a mix of genetics and allergies, I’ve always had dark under eye circles, so this is the one area I never forget. After applying some of the product under my eyes, I also use it as a spot treatment in place of concealer to save time (trust me, it actually works).

To continue keeping things quick and easy, I like to lightly line my upper lash line with an eyeliner pencil. Pencils are easy to apply, and although they don’t create that coveted winged shape, they’re far less messy than liquid. I like to use this pencil from Ulta, in a brown/black shade. Because this look is so minimal, I like the brown/black shade because it blends in with my eyelashes. But really though, I think any neutral shade of brown or maybe even gray would work well with this look.

Mascara is another product that is essential for any look. Along with under eye concealer, I generally never leave the house without it. I’ve been using this mascara by Rimmel London. Strangely enough, it does curl my eyelashes like it says as well as any combination of mascara with an eyelash curler, but if you use an eyelash curler with this mascara, the curl is ruined. I have no idea why and maybe it’s just me, but it is nice to not have to use an eyelash curler anymore.

To finish the look I use this lip balm by Givenchy. Supposedly it changes to every skin tone (something to do with the pH balance of your body). I’m not entirely sure that’s true, but I do really like this product. The best part is that you can swipe a little on your cheeks as blush. This product is really great in a pinch; I usually leave it in my purse so I can put it on on the go!

There you have my 5 minute makeup routine using only 5 products. It’s incredibly easy, but still looks great. Thanks for reading, and if you liked this post please give me a follow on Bloglovin’!
