Welcome back! If you’ve been following my blog (or instagram), you may notice some similar pieces in the above outfit. For those that haven’t click here and here for reference. Because I’ve “recycled” a lot of these pieces, today’s post is all about versatility.

Versatility, to me, is key in a wardrobe. Of course, I’m as susceptible as the next person when it comes to buying those statement pieces that just scream “pick me” at  the mall. However, I must admit that time and time again I find myself going for the same key pieces in my closet.

Some people here the word “versatile” and immediately shy away thinking it synonymous with “boring” or “unexciting.” This is absolutely NOT the case. To prove my point, we’ll start with my jean skirt. Slowly, the jean skirt has been making a major come back starting with a button down version and moving on to a distressed style like mine. This skirt is completely on trend (and completely cute, if I do say so myself), and completely versatile. Comparing this outfit to the outfit in my post Vacay Vibes, they have a completely different feel between the two. One is a little more polished and girly, while the other is quite laid-back. When I saw this skirt I knew that the styling possibilities were endless.

Moving on to my shirt. I’ve said it before and I will say it again; nothing beats a classic, white t-shirt. No matter the style (I prefer a looser, v-neck version), white t-shirts work anytime. Keep it classic with denim like I did or mix it up and wear it under a slip dress (really on trend right now) or even layered under a jacket/cardigan. Honestly, you can’t go wrong, which makes the white t-shirt a staple in my wardrobe.

As you can see, I’m also re-wearing my new double buckle belt. This is another example of versatile, yet trendy pieces. Obviously I don’t need to explain the usefulness of a belt, but I like that this one is slightly more interesting than your every day version. I’m seeing double buckle belts everywhere right now with so many different outfits and styles, so I promise you won’t regret making this purchase.

Finally, if I haven’t said this yet, go buy a pair of Birkenstocks. GO NOW! I have never worn a comfier pair of shoes. They’re perfect for wearing to class or heading out the door for errands. Mark my words, once you go Birk, you never go back!

Ending my little rant on versatility, I wanted to talk about my lip color. In the pictures it’s coming out sort of red, but it’s actually called Tangerine and creates a pinky-orange color. I bought this last year as part of a small lip duo (love the other color, Ligonberry, too!) in the line leading to the cash register to Sephora. Seriously, that aisle is evil, always getting me to buy things I didn’t even know existed, but suddenly have to have. Anyway, the lip color is by Bite Beauty and it was actually a limited addition, but if you click my link under the pictures, I found it on Amazon for those who are interested. I haven’t bought any other products from Bite, but I should really change that because I love the duo so much!
