Gingham + Slides

Gingham — it’s the new floral. Scrolling through my Instagram feed these days, more times than not gingham print is on the screen. Everything from dresses and skirts, to rompers and tops. It’s EVERYWHERE. And for good reason. I’m by no means bashing floral print (I actually love florals), but season after season it can be a tad tiresome.

That’s where gingham comes in. It’s no longer a pattern just for picnic blankets; the print has made its way to high end labels on the Spring 2017 runways, most notably Carolina Herrera.

What I love about the print is that it can fit so many different styles. Where it in a sweet off the shoulder dress like I did for a girlier look, or pair a gingham skirt with a boyfriend tee and booties for an edgier vibe. It just fits in a multitude of closets.

While gingham is having its moment, arguably the biggest trend of the season is slides. This trend has slowly evolved over the seasons starting with mules, to the Gucci fur slides, and now to the summery loafer and sandal versions. Slides instantly give an outfit that casual-cool feel, making them a must-have this summer.
