Welcome back! Sorry for the erratic posting lately, but I’m a little behind on content. Don’t worry though — more to come soon! Anyway, how freakin’ cute is my little wrap dress? I’m a huge fan of the wrap dress silhouette, but throw some ruffles on it? I’m a goner.
Funny story behind this dress — my mom and I recently showed up to church for my godson’s baptism a day early! My mom had the day wrong, so after we realized our mishap we decided to go shopping (duh). Anyway, my mom didn’t really like the dress I had chosen to wear so we were browsing for something new while at the mall. After trying on not one, not two, but six different dresses we finally ended up walking into Express where my mom picked up the little number I’m wearing above. As soon as I put it on, we both thought it was perfect.
What I love about this wrap dress (aside from the sunny color) is how versatile it is. I’ve already worn it three times — well, four if you count the photoshoot for this post. Obviously I wore it to the baptism, but I also brought it to New Orleans with me where I paired it with my Tory Burch sandals for a casual day, and then finally to an interview this week. If that isn’t versatility, I don’t know what is.
Now for my accessories. Unfortunately the basket bag you may have seen on the blog and on my insta broke recently, but I happened across this one while shopping at South Moon Under. I’m loving the black and beige color combo and like my old one it has two different strap options.
The shoes. You may have seen them on my insta on Tuesday. They were originally $70, but my mom and I both bought them for only $43! They’re so comfy and, like the dress, work for a variety of occasions. I’ve just worn mine out to dinner once, but I think they’ll make the perfect shoe for exploring on the weekends. My mom actually wore hers to work. But wherever you might wear them, you need these in your life ASAP! I fell in love with the cognac color, but they come in a few others as well (I also really love them in black).
I realize this post is getting long, but one last thought — I finally got on board the MAC creme cup lipstick shade train and I should have done it sooner! The color is too perfect; it’s just slightly too pink to be classified as a nude and is so flattering.
That’s all for this week, until next time…
xo,
Carey
