Wear Now
August isn’t even over, but here I am sharing my first fall transition post of the season! By now I’m sure you know that fall is my favorite season. From crisp air and cozy sweaters to pumpkin spice everything, I can’t get enough! With that being said, it really is way too hot to even consider boots and sweaters. I’m lucky if I can get away with a pair of booties this time of year!
But don’t worry, because I have a few tips for wearing “fall outfits” in early September. Take the outfit above, for example. I paired a suede skirt — traditionally a fall/winter material — with a lightweight white tee. Add a pair of neutral booties and you get the autumnal look without the bulky layers!
Another tip is to mix your longs and shorts. What I mean by this is pair a long sleeve or light jacket with shorts or a skirt. And on the flip side, try wearing a short sleeve top or tank with your jeans. Essentially, pick one cooler weather piece and pair it with something lighter.

So now that you know how to dress for fall when it still feels scorching hot, let’s talk about when the weather actually does cool down! I already have so many fall outfit ideas when it comes to this skirt, but the one above is such an easy fall transition. Swap your booties for a longer boot shaft and add a leather jacket or even a cardigan!
So, basically do the opposite from before and layer up! I also would pair this skirt with an oversized sweater for maximum coziness. There really are endless possibilities when it comes to a neutral suede or leather skirt in the fall.
That’s it for today’s post. If you’re looking for some more great fall inspo on a budget, check out this post with amazing Amazon fall finds.
