Spring Tops to Ease Into the New Season

Spring has sprung in New York — at least for this week. As one of the more volatile seasons, spring is notoriously difficult to dress for. Are we in for sunshine and warm days? Or is another snowstorm gearing up? With that in mind, I love to have a rotation of spring tops to choose from. Tops you can dress up or down and pair with jeans or shorts and skirts.

When it comes to the spring tops I’m talking about, long sleeves are my go-to. Unless it’s 85 degrees, I can wear a long sleeve top anytime. Ideally, it will be lightweight, so it works for those warmer days, but isn’t leaving too much skin on display to feel chilled. (And you can always add a denim jacket!).

The top I’m wearing above is exactly what I’m talking about. Fun long sleeves, a light, silky material, and an interesting neckline! I’m ready to ditch my turtlenecks for necklines like these. I’m currently loving square necks, sweetheart styles, and Queen Anne styles!

Although it’s warming up in NYC, it’s still a bit chilly so jeans were in order — we’re not quite ready for shorts here. But, this top would pair perfectly with a pair of cutoff jean shorts or even a fun skirt. I went for a more casual look and added white sneakers to the outfit. I’m not sure why, but white sneakers scream spring to me.
