5 Trendy Summer Colors Your Wardrobe Needs

pistachio green for summer

If you’ve been following for awhile, you know that I’m a neutral girl at heart. Give me all the black, white, and tan pieces. In fact, I’d say about 75% of my tops are either white or cream, and denim is abundant for bottoms. But, lately I’ve been gravitating towards color. And I don’t even mean light, pastel colors. I’m talking bright, bold hues.

Maybe it’s the aftermath of starting to come out of quarantine, but colors are huge this summer — five in particular. Let me walk you through the colors your closet needs this summer!

Hot Pink

Easily the hottest color of the summer, hot pink (or Barbie pink) is having a moment. Channel your inner Elle Woods and go crazy. Anything from head-to-toe pink to pops of the color via accessories goes.

Sunset Orange

I’ve always been quite partial to orange in the summer. Something about it screams beachy vibes. This summer though, I think it’s even giving hot pink a run for its money. I don’t know about you, but I can’t get enough! I recently bought a pair of orange heels and they’ve garnered so many compliments.

Green

Unlike the other colors, green isn’t getting a shade descriptor. The reason — there are a few trending green shades! Specifically, pistachio, emerald and kelly green. In the past, olive green has been one of my go-to shades (it’s still somewhat neutral) so it’s no wonder that I’m all about this trend. I’m personally loving all three shades, but I think pistachio might be my favorite!

Cobalt Blue

Blue never goes out of style, but I’m seeing a very particular shade of blue this summer. Move over baby blue, because this electric shade is taking center stage. Bonus: it’s sure to pop against your summer tan!

Chocolate Brown

Okay, so now you might be thinking, “I was on board with the other four, but this one?” I don’t blame you! But, the pieces I’ve seen in this shade lately are making a case for it. Brown is traditionally an autumnal color, but this specific shade just looks so elegant and somehow just works for summer. And if you pair it with some of the other colors I mentioned? Even better!

And those are the five colors you need to know for the summer! Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!
