Summer is coming to an end and I’m officially ready to embrace fall! The weather might not agree with me quite yet, though… So for now, we’ll stick to fall transition outfits. When I saw this yellow dress I thought it would be so perfect for the changing seasons. I love how it can be worn on it’s own with sneakers or sandals now, but with a moto jacket and boots when the weather cools.
Side note about this dress — I thought the keyhole detail was so fun! It takes a simple, every day dress and makes it slightly more interesting and on-trend. Cut outs are still trending this season, so expect to see more!
Anyway, enough about this outfit. I want to talk my favorite subject: shoes! There are some very specific styles that are trending this fall and I can’t wait to share them with you.
1. Clogs
Arguably one of the most controversial shoe trends of the season, clogs are having a moment. Specifically, the Birkenstock Boston clogs. I remember wearing this style in elementary school and they were the coolest shoe to have. I am 100% down for them to be back! While the Birkenstocks are stealing the show, clogs in general are going to be big this season.
2. Silver Boots
Metallic boots in general will be so cute for fall, but silver boots are truly iconic. I think now that we’re done with the pandemic, everyone wants to wear things that are fun. So cue metallic/silver boots!
3. Cowboy Boots
Cowboy boots have been gaining speed and I don’t think they’re stopping any time soon. These boots are my every day, go-to in the fall. I think they just look so cute with practically every outfit. If you’re new to cowboy boots, start with your basic black or brown or really any neutral. But if you have the basics covered, branch out and try a funky pair!
4. Adidas Sambas
This is a hyper-specific, micro-trend started by the queen, Hailey Bieber. While I think she rocks them (and so do so many other girls), they personally aren’t for me. But I couldn’t write a fall shoe trends blog post and not include these!

5. Ballet Flats
I feel like you are either going to absolutely love this trend or absolutely hate it. Ballet-core will be taking over in the fall, and there’s nothing more ballet than ballet flats. I think they look so preppy and chic, in a French-girl, elevated way. And I can’t wait to start wearing them!
6. Loafers
Last, but not least: loafers. Loafers took over our Instagram feeds last fall and they’re back again this year. I think loafers are such a great shoe for fall because they’re so versatile. They look professional for work, but have a kind of cool girl flair that works for the perfect street style outfit. Wear them with jeans, skirts, dresses, trousers — pretty much anything!
