If you haven’t noticed by now, some of my favorite things are mini skirts, leather, and cozy sweaters. So when an outfit has all three, it’s definitely a winner in my book!
I recently picked up this fuzzy cropped sweater and camel colored skirt from Zara. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the sweater on their website, but I was there last week and saw it in stores still. But, this sweater from Urban Outfitters is almost an exact dupe, it’s just a little more gray than black. I also found a similar long sleeve version from Forever21 that’s also super cute.
Oh and the best news ever? My Steve Madden booties from last fall are back again at Nordstrom AND marked down! They are literally my favorite fall shoes — I wear them so often I broke the sole of the heel and had to get them fixed! They’re so comfy, and add just a little bit of height.

Happy first day of November! Since it’s the start of a new month, I decided to create a couple fall outfits for you guys to give you a little wardrobe inspo. I even challenged myself to make them all budget friendly, under $100! Let’s get shopping…
I’m not sure about you guys, but the past few years, I’ve been the biggest fan of turtlenecks! I used to think they were for little old ladies, but they can look so chic styled the right way. My favorite way to wear my turtlenecks is with a mini skirt. Spice up the outfit with one of this season’s hottest trends: red boots. Total cost = $87.39
If you saw last week’s post (read it here) then you know I love pairing oversized sweater dresses with OTK boots from a cozy, yet put together look. Who doesn’t want to feel like they’re being wrapped in a blanket and call it fashion? Total cost = $99.98
Off the shoulder sweaters started appearing last fall, and I can’t get enough! Make this look ultra chic with a pair of leather leggings and some leopard slides. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’ve been seeing leopard print everywhere! These slides are an easy way to incorporate the print into your wardrobe. Total cost = $91
I don’t usually do posts like these, so let me know what you guys think in the comments below! Also, what did everyone dress up as fore Halloween? Be sure to check out my instagram to see what I was!
One of my favorite outfits to wear for fall is a sweater dress — all the coziness of a sweater, minus the uncomfortable jeans or other bottoms. Sweater dresses are just a socially acceptable (and stylish) way of walking around wrapped in a blanket. There are so many versions of sweater dresses, but my favorite kind are ones that are bulky, not tight, and have a turtleneck. This combo equals ultimate comfort.
Funny story — my sweater dress is one I picked up at H&M, but when I went to find the link for you guys to shop it, I realized that it wasn’t meant to be a dress. *face palms* I guess that’s one advantage of being short? To be fair, on the hanger this sweater looked huge and I am wearing an xs, so I think you could wear it either way. For those of you with longer legs that definitely can’t turn this sweater into a dress, I’m loving this option and this option as well.
When it comes to shoe choices, I love to pair my sweater dresses with over the knee boots. It’s a trendy look, but it also keeps your legs warm when the weather is chilly. With that being said, sweater dresses look equally cute with some sneakers or booties and tights.
Just as a side note — these photos were all shot by my friend Jenna in Dublin (St. Stephen’s Green to be specific)! I met her in Edinburgh this weekend for her birthday, and since she’s studying abroad in Dublin I went back with her for a day and a half. Both cities are so much fun and I highly recommend visiting! Feel free to message me if you have any questions about traveling to either city.
You read it here: leather shorts + black tights + your fave booties = your new fall uniform. There only so many times you can wear your go to denim before it starts to get boring, and dresses and skirts require tights unless you plan to freeze. While you can’t avoid the tights with this outfit either, it’s much more unexpected.
I chose a pair of leather shorts because, unlike my summer shorts, this fabric feels much more season appropriate. I kept the look simple and paired the shorts with my favorite white bell sleeve top and the black booties I wear non-stop. Both items are from last fall, but I found a similar shirt and booties so you can shop the look.
Find other fall shorts I’m loving here, here, here, and here! Also, I’m headed to Edinburgh this weekend, so if anyone has some recommendations, let me know in the comments below!
Reasons I love fall: leaves changing color, pumpkin spice everything, Halloween, and OVER THE KNEE BOOTS!! I generally prefer warm weather over cold, but as soon as it even starts to get chilly out, I’m excited to break out my OTK boots. Luckily for me, London weather cools off a little earlier than North Carolina or even Maryland.
One of my favorite ways to wear over the knee boots is with a short skirt of dress. I get to wear them a little longer while keeping my legs warm. On the topic of my skirt, is anyone else loving that patent leather is back?! The subtle sheen of the skirt instantly elevates the look (it’s a little more of a high fashion look than if I wore one of my go-to denim skirts).
I paired my skirt and boots with my new cozy sweater from H&M. If you’re looking for comfy sweaters that aren’t too expensive, this is the place to shop. Every time I walk in (because there are 5 million stores in London) I’m instantly hit with sweater lust. Anyway, there is something so chic about a bulky sweater paired with a mini skirt and over the knee boots. It looks put together, but not like you tried too hard.
One last note: I recently went to the MAC store to find a new red lipstick for fall and came out with the one pictured above. I am in LOVE! It’s a deep red, but still bright and not purplish like many fall lipsticks. The ladies at MAC always pick out the best lipsticks for me, so if you ever need help definitely ask them.

I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t feel like it’s actually fall until October rolls around. As soon as this month hits, I am immediately ready for the changing leaves, pumpkin spice everything, and Halloween.
With that being said, October calls for a closet reset. Sure, I start wearing clothes for cooler weather in September, but October is when fall fashion really takes off. This fall, I’m loving all things plaid, velvet, and mustard yellow. Keep reading for some of my top October picks!
- Steve Madden Slides. This season is all about pearl embellishments! Having a subtle pearl element on your shoes instantly elevates your look to high fashion.
- Plaid Coat. If you’re a blog regular, you definitely saw last week’s post about plaid blazers. Keep the trend alive by switching to a plaid coat when the temps start to drop.
- Velvet Dress. This dress combines two of my favorite things this fall: velvet and mustard yellow! I can see myself styling this piece with some over the knee boots already!
- Sweater Dress. One of my favorite things to wear during the cooler months is a sweater dress. Who doesn’t love wearing what is essentially a cocoon and calling it fashion?! I love this one because you can transform it from a cowl neck to an off the shoulder style!
- Black Pants. I don’t know if it’s just me, but lately I’m seeing pants with buttons down the sides everywhere. I’m loving the subtle nautical vibes they give off. These pants will be the perfect piece to take from day to night.
- Mustard Pumps. Again with this color; I can’t get enough! I love that the pump also features a v-shape, a style that is popping up everywhere.
- White Booties. I’ve mentioned it before, but white booties are the IT shoe of the season. If you haven’t already gotten a pair these Steve Madden ones are a great pick, as well as this pair that I have from Topshop.
- Baker Boy Hat. I am OBSESSED with this hat trend! I think this style looks so flattering on and adds an element of retro cool to any outfit.
