Now that the weather is starting to warm up, I figured it was time to create my Amazon Spring Finds post. You all loved the Fall Finds post, so how could I not? I went a tad bit overboard on this one, which I think you’ll appreciate! I got caught up in the blackhole that is Amazon and spent 3 hours searching for pieces.
Overall, I found 50 Amazon pieces that I think are so cute for spring. From rompers and dresses to cute spring tops, there’s so much! Let me know in the comments below which pieces you’re loving!
Gone are the days of creating mood boards out of fashion magazines. While sad, I have to say the new mood board is much more convenient. I’m talking about my saves on Instagram! I’m constantly scrolling through my feed or the explore page saving outfits I love to designated folders. And the one outfit formula I realized I’ve been loving? Flowy spring dresses with clunky sneakers!
A year ago I would never, ever have paired clunky dad sneakers with a cute dress. Maybe a pair of slip on sneakers would pass the test, but my FILAs would be a hard no. Now, I can’t get enough of the look. I’ve even seen quite a few looks adding crew socks that I think are so cool. We’ll see if I actually try to recreate though!
In other news, can you believe this dress is only $22?? It’s lightweight without being too thin and is just perfect for early spring weather. I love the combination of the balloon sleeves with the high neck—it’s the perfect amount of drama. The tiger print is also a winner for me! You know I love an animal print, so this is no exception.
If you’re not a fan of the dad sneakers—they’re not everyone’s cup of tea—this dress would also look so cute now with a pair of booties and a pair of sandals when it warms up! You could even dress it up with a pair of heels for a night out look. The options are endless.
My Top Netflix Recommendations
But enough about the outfit. I know it’s only day four of the work-from-home life (at least for me), but I’m starting to get a little stir crazy. If I’m not reading or listening to podcasts to entertain myself, you can probably find me watching my new show obsession: White Collar. I’m such a fan of crime shows, so this is perfect for me. And while this show is actually on Hulu, I thought I would share some of my Netflix recommendations (since it’s the most popular).
My TV tastes are kind of all across the board, but here they are:
Next in Fashion
In the Dark
Like I said, my taste is eclectic! From crime shows to fantasy to drama to reality competitions, it really just depends on my mood. But, I loved all of the shows on that list (shared in no particular order).
If you’re looking for movies, my list is shorter. But, I recommend:
Miss Americana (technically a documentary…)
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
Set it Up
The Ugly Truth
I hope this helps with the boredom! And if you need any podcast recommendations, I shared my favorites on this post. That’s all for today, leave me a comment below with your favorite show to watch on Netflix.
I don’t know about you, but I think the hardest time of year to dress for is early spring. One day it’ll be 65 degrees and sunny, but the next week you could have a snow storm. So, when the weather is changing weekly I like to go back to the basics for an early spring outfit.
There’s nothing more classic than a simple white long sleeve and a good pair of denim. Both of these items are staples in my wardrobe that I reach for multiple times a week. And the great thing about them is that they make great foundations for your early spring outfits. Maybe tomorrow I’ll wear a long sleeve tee and my jeans, but later in the week swap the jeans for a denim skirt or shorts.
The way I make my simple outfits more interesting is through accessories. I don’t know what got into me this weekend but I am on a major hat kick. I can’t stop wearing my go-to taupe hat. Add in the snakeskin booties and the interest-level kicks up.
So, in early spring you can expect to see me in nothing but neutral long sleeve tops, jeans, and a cute fedora! Basically my uniform for March-April.
Happy Friday friends! I don’t know about you but I am so ready for the weekend. Since we’re well on our way into March, I thought I would share your favorites looks from the gram throughout February. These are the top 6 posts that garnered the most engagement, so I’m guessing you guys love these outfits! And since it’s not quite spring weather yet, I thought you could use some inspiration to get you through the last little bit of cold weather fashion.
So, let’s keep today’s post short and sweet and jump right into the outfits. Shop the links below each photo. (P.S. If an item appeared in multiple photos, I only shared it in the one it appeared in first. For example, I only shared my bag in the first pic).
So there you have last month’s top 6 outfits! Which one is your favorite?
By this point, you guys know how much I love tie-dye! I never thought I would jump on this bandwagon, but it’s such a fun trend I couldn’t not. You can read more about my thoughts on tie-dye here, but let’s talk about this cute dress.
First, who doesn’t love a $25 price tag? Especially if you’re a little wary about this trend and its longevity, this is an easy way to try it out without committing a substantial amount. But even better than the price is the material! I kid you not, this dress is basically a gigantic sweatshirt and feels like you’re wearing pajamas. I could 100% wear it as a dressier version of lounge clothes.
Because the tie-dye dress is such a statement maker itself, I kept the rest of the outfit super simple, but springy. Read: I threw on my favorite shoes of the moment. There is absolutely nothing better than a pair of slip on white leather sneakers. I wore this pair for a solid year and half almost every single day (even in winter!) until they got so gross I had to get rid of them. Now, I’m wearing this pair from Frye and I might love them even more. But really, you can’t go wrong with either pair.
So that’s today’s short and sweet post. I can’t recommend this dress enough. If you liked this post, leave me a comment below!
One category I hardly ever cover on The Dainty Details is night out looks. Personally, this is the hardest occasion for me to dress for! As a 23-year-old, my friends and I go out semi-regularly and every time we go out the number one question is: “What are you wearing?” Today I’m hoping to make that question a little easier the next time you’re going out. Whether you’re planning a girls’ night out or a date night, there’s one trend you should keep in mind: statement sleeves.
You know that saying, “the higher the hair, the closer to God”? Well, I’m applying that concept to my sleeves! I am all about puff sleeves at the moment. A structurally interesting top really helps you stand out without trying too hard.
For this look, I paired a statement sleeve top with black jeans and my go-to pair of black heels. The outfit itself really is simple, but the statement sleeves really help make a, well, statement…
Polka Dot Prints
While on the topic of trends, we have to talk about another huge trend for spring: polka dots. Personally, I have always loved a good polka dot print for spring and summer. However, this year black and white polka dot prints specifically are stealing our hearts and Instagram feeds. I think a black and white polka dot print for a night out is fun and flirty, but not too sweet.
Lastly, we can’t talk about this outfit without mentioning the headband. Anyone else on a major headband kick? I cannot get enough! Headbands are such an easy way to elevate any outfit. For this outfit, I loved how the mint green headband stood out against the black and white palette. It really is so easy to turn a somewhat boring outfit into a showstopper with one key accessory. Plus, I think you all know how much I love mint green at the moment!
So, that’s it for today’s post. I hope this outfit gives you some inspiration for your next night out! I really loved how this look turned out and will definitely be wearing it out myself. Swapping the black jeans for black leather shorts would also be such a fun idea! Anyway, if you liked this look, leave a comment below.
