Hello from New Orleans! I can’t believe today is my last day here, it’s been such a fun spring break. And I can’t wait to share all of our travel deets on a New Orleans travel guide coming soon (check out my London travel guide here)!
But anyway, here is the look I wore for spending the day in City Park. We walked around the grounds, played mini golf, and had lunch—honestly you could spend days just in the park. Because we were going to be walking around and playing mini golf, I wanted to wear something comfy, casual, but cute. And you really can’t go wrong with a cute top and light shorts with sandals!
I don’t know about you, but I’m over florals for spring—it’s all about the polka dots! I love the unique color of these shorts paired with white polka dots. They will definitely be on repeat through spring and summer. I also love the subtle ruffle detail on the hem and down the front. It paired so well with the babydoll top.
The best part of this outfit is that my top and shorts together are only $20! Plus, Shein is having a sale right now through April 14th. You can get an extra 15% off with the code shsale058! Definitely check out my top and shorts, plus some other items. Shein is my favorite place to shop trendy items for less.
What would you like to see next on the blog? Let me know in the comments!
TGIF am I right? Sorry for the late post this week, but I have been extremely busy with school. Anyway, it’s starting to feel like spring in North Carolina, so I though I would share some dresses that are inspiring my spring wardrobe.
Clearly I am having a pastel moment right now — pale pinks, blues, and yellows are a must. I’ve also been seeing a lot of lavender colored pieces and I am LOVING IT! Aside from pastels, I’m feeling inspired by ruffles and lacey/sheer fabrics.
All of the dresses I shared above are definitely on my wish list. However, I think my favorite is #6, the white babydoll Free People dress. It would look so cute with a pair of wedges and a denim jacket, or with a pair of booties and a cute hat for a more festival-type look.
I also really love #5, the yellow floral dress. And if you haven’t clicked on the link yet, do so now and check out the cute cut out details in the back! This dress can definitely be dressed up or down and could definitely transition into summer.
That’s all for this week, I hope everyone has a good weekend!
Fashion Week 2017 got us excited for all of the new trends we would be seeing by the time spring rolls around, but my favorite trend by far is modern romance. From dainty prints, pastel colors, ruffles, to sheer fabrics, I for one can’t wait for the weather to warm up. In anticipation of shedding our winter gear and opting for lighter fabrics and shorter hemlines, here are a few pieces I’m absolutely loving for this season.
Button down. How cute is the chihuahua print on this shirt?! It’s definitely not something I would imagine to be on shirt, but for some reason it just works. I’ve mentioned before on the blog how much I love button downs and this one is no different. It’s perfect for spring with the dainty (and adorable) print and light blue color.
Tie front dress. Polka dots are going to be everywhere this season! Transition into warmer weather with this long sleeve, but lightweight dress. I love that the polka dot print isn’t as overwhelming as some of the other polka dot pieces I’ve been seeing lately.
Basket bag. If you loved the basket bag trend over the summer, fear not. This is one trend that isn’t going anywhere. I love this particular bag because while it is on trend, it’s also functional and not over the top making it perfect for every day use.
Pink skirt. If you follow the blog regularly then you know how much I love A-line skirts. Surprisingly enough, I don’t own a pink one yet. But, I think it’s the perfect piece to add to my spring wardrobe.
Kitten heels. This heel style took over this past season and is making it’s way into spring. I’m loving this pair of kitten heels because it effortlessly meshes a delicate style with edgier details. I think these would look darling paired with a sundress.
Floral dress. As soon as I added this dress to my list, all I could hear in my head was Meryl Streep’s line, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” But, in all honesty, florals for spring are a classic and are never not in style. I love this particular dress because it really plays up the modern romance trend — pastel colors, delicate prints, and ruffles, ruffles, ruffles!
I hope this list inspired you to get started on your spring aesthetic. Comment below with your favorite trend for this season!
I’m just going to jump right in and ask, how cute is this romper!? I picked this adorable piece up on my recent trip to Scottsdale and have been waiting anxiously to share it on the blog. It really is the perfect spring piece with the fun pattern and pastel/bright colors. Plus, you can never really go wrong with rompers in the spring. I’m rounding up a few of my favorite romper styles right now below:
An off the shoulder one like this one from Forever21
A gingham print romper like this one from American Eagle (I actually just bought this!)
Another part of my outfit I couldn’t wait to share was my new Steve Madden Carrson heels. I’ve been wanting these shoes since the summer, and finally went for it and bought myself a pair for my sorority formal a couple weeks ago. I originally wanted to get them in black, but they weren’t available in stores, so I went with the blush color, and I’m actually glad that I did. Blush is much more fun for spring and summer, but still goes with a lot.
Hope you liked this post and see you next week! If you like the blog, don’t be afraid to give me a follow on either wordpress or bloglovin, and check out my insta page for even more content!
Welcome back everyone! If you can’t tell by the pics, I’m currently on spring break!! My fam and I decided to take a short trip to Scottsdale, Arizona. Although it’s in the desert, there’s still a pool, so of course I had to get a new swimsuit.
The swimsuit I’m wearing is one I found in Nordstrom while shopping with my mom. I instantly fell in love with it because of the off the shoulder style. Clearly the off the shoulder trend isn’t going anywhere if it’s made its way to swimsuits.
I kept the look simple and just threw a pair of denim shorts on top and grabbed my sandals and hat. Now all I need is a tan!
That’s all I have for the this week, but stay tuned for more recaps of Scottsdale!
Welcome back everyone! So excited to share this spring outfit with you. Since my last post, the weather changed from warm and sunny to cold and chilly. Luckily yesterday was pretty warm for this photoshoot.
If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you may have picked up on how much I love to style button downs. They’re so versatile and perfect for weather year round. Because of the nice weather yesterday I decided to pair my button down with my go-to denim skirt. I swear, I can’t log on to Instagram without seeing at least one photo with a denim skirt. If you don’t own one yet, jump on the bandwagon soon!
My absolute favorite part of this outfit are my new mules! Again, another staple I can’t stop talking about on the blog is mules. I love the light blue color of this pair, which just screams spring. I got them from Forever21 so I didn’t feel bad about the price for shoes that are a little less versatile.
Last but not least: accessories. For those of you who know my style, you know that I tend to go with the same simple, gold pieces. I wear my MK watch EVERY day. I also wear a gold Kendra Scott bracelet almost every day too. The bag I paired with this look is by Rebecca Minkoff that I got for my birthday last year. I love the neutral tone of it, and the circle shape isn’t going anywhere!
That’s all for today, see you next week!
