Hello lovely readers, welcome back! If this top seems familiar, then it’s because you may have seen my blog about it some time back in March. Buuuut… It’s been restocked at Nordstrom in not only this color, but black and white as well! When I last wrote about this top, I emphasized how perfect it is for transitioning between seasons. Right now I’m loving it because it still feels summery, but is made of a thicker material that makes it perfect for nighttime (and when it starts to cool off).

I paired the top with a denim skirt, as per usual. I chose my white mini because I think it complements the pastel color of the top, plus my regular blue denim skirt may have faded into the blue shirt.

From this outfit what I’m most excited about is my new Steve Madden slides! I’m absolutely obsessed with these because they look a lot like the Gucci slides, but cost $80 instead of $700. They’re incredibly comfortable, but if you get them definitely size up. I’m usually a 6 so I ordered them in 6.5, but honestly I think a 7 might have been better.

If you follow me on instagram you may have gotten the first look at my new haircut, as well as a closer version of the lipstick I’m wearing. I went to the MAC store and asked one of the women there to pick me out a light, nude color lipstick and I’m in love with what she picked! It’s definitely something you can wear everyday without feeling like you’re over doing it.

Thanks for reading and I hope you like this week’s post! Just as a heads up, my posting while abroad (the next four months) might be a little sporadic, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to post at least every other week if not every week.

Fall Look Book

Fall Look Book

Hi everyone, welcome back! I’m not sure if I’ve shared this yet or not, but my upcoming fall semester will be spent studying abroad in LONDON! While I’m not ready for summer to be over, I can’t wait until I’m in London either and that has me thinking about fall clothes. So, I thought I’d share with you some items that are inspiring my fall wardrobe:

  1. Steve Madden Slides. Good news — slides are back and better than ever. And thank god for that, because they are the comfiest shoes. I tried on these Steve Madden slides at Nordstrom and they are definitely on my list! They’re so cute on and look like the Gucci slides at a fraction of the cost.
  2. Topshop Booties. If you happened to see any of the SS17 fashion shows then you had to have noticed a trend: white booties! Personally, I am a huuuge fan of this trend and as soon as I found a pair online (these topshop booties) I had to have them. Watch out for them on the blog soon!
  3. Wayf Blouse. This blouse is part of the Nordstrom sale (which ends Aug. 6th) and it is absolutely gorgeous. If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you know that I love button downs. I really love this version because the silky material looks so luxe, especially in that slate color.
  4. Topshop Blazer Dress. For the longest time, I’ve loved the look of blazer dresses. I think maybe because it is a dress that covers a lot, but still seems somewhat scandalous. Whatever the reason, it’s a look I love, but have never owned. Hopefully this Topshop dress makes its way into my closet soon.
  5. Topshop Corset Dress. Slowly, but surely, the corset trend is emerging. I have to admit, I instantly hated this trend. I thought corsets looked tacky and just gross. But, my mind was changed when I saw a pic of Kendall Jenner wearing a corset dress (or maybe just a corset over a dress?) in all white. While I’m still not a total advocate of this trend, I have to say that the combination of the corset (an edgy, sexy vibe) mixed with a delicate white just does it for me. Somehow this combination creates something entirely feminine and wearable.
  6. Topshop Kimono. Another trend I’ve never really gotten on board with is kimonos. However, I’m being swayed to the dark side with the newest take on kimonos — a sturdier, silky, mid-maxi length version. The sturdier material, as opposed to a light gauzy version you see in the summer, makes the look so much more luxurious. And the yellow color of the one above is perfect for late summer transitioning to fall.
  7. Lulus Skirt. Again if you’ve been following along, it’s no secret that I’m a skirt kind of gal. You’ve probably seen my denim skirts 5 million times on Instagram. I’m loving this skirt because of the fun grommet detail (in gold too!) that takes a simple black skirt from boring to something more.

That’s it for this week! And on a side note, this post was in no way sponsored by Topshop, I’m just really loving a lot of the brand’s clothes right now!

Romper // Heels // Bracelets // Watch (similar) // Bag (similar) // NARS Lipstick in Juliette

I’m just going to jump right in and ask, how cute is this romper!? I picked this adorable piece up on my recent trip to Scottsdale and have been waiting anxiously to share it on the blog. It really is the perfect spring piece with the fun pattern and pastel/bright colors. Plus, you can never really go wrong with rompers in the spring. I’m rounding up a few of my favorite romper styles right now below:

  1. This gorgeous floral one from Nordstrom.
  2. An off the shoulder one like this one from Forever21
  3. A gingham print romper like this one from American Eagle (I actually just bought this!)

Another part of my outfit I couldn’t wait to share was my new Steve Madden Carrson heels. I’ve been wanting these shoes since the summer, and finally went for it and bought myself a pair for my sorority formal a couple weeks ago. I originally wanted to get them in black, but they weren’t available in stores, so I went with the blush color, and I’m actually glad that I did. Blush is much more fun for spring and summer, but still goes with a lot.

Hope you liked this post and see you next week! If you like the blog, don’t be afraid to give me a follow on either wordpress or bloglovin, and check out my insta page for even more content!

The November Edit

November Edit

Nastygal Skirt, Free People Scarf, Steve Madden Boots, BaubleBar Earrings, UGG Clogs, Lulu’s Jacket, H&M Sweater

I realize that it’s technically not November yet, but we’re only a day away so why not? As we move into November, I think tall boots, warm sweaters, and lots of layers. Unfortunately for me, it’s not actually cold here in North Carolina. Yesterday was almost 80 degrees. But, I  can dream can’t I? Above are just some items I’ve seen lately that’ve caught me eye online.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been seeing red leather skirts everywhere. I think this is such a fun fall trend that could easily transfer to winter. Right now I’d pair it with a pair of booties, but as it gets colder I’d switch the booties out for over-the-knee boots like that gorgeous pair above, or wear it with tights.

Along with the Steve Madden boots, I also included these clogs by UGG. I recently saw a girl on campus wearing clogs and thought they looked so cute. Coincidently, I later saw another blogger featuring a pair of clogs on her site too. I’m predicting that clogs are about to make a big come-back soon. Just imagine how cute they’d look with an a-line skirt or paired with some killer flare jeans. Although I love that the UGG clogs have shearling lining (who needs socks when your feet are surrounded by fur?) this pair from asos is really similar and less than a third of the price.

Scarves are definitely a fave accessory of mine. As someone who’s always cold, I love being able to throw on a chic scarf for some extra warmth. The scarf above is from Free People and the reason I love it is because it reminds me of this other cream scarf I have, which is sadly dying a slow death (I’ll probably still wear it though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). Everyone needs a good neutral scarf, and this one just looks so comfy! I definitely need to go see it in person and find out if it’s as soft as it looks!

As a little girl I was obsessed with dangly earrings. It might have something to do with not being allowed to wear them at Catholic school  (it was horrible, in elementary school we could only wear studs, obviously just one piercing, and if we wore a necklace it had to be religious in some way). I figure the oppression I faced in school made me go crazy outside of it. Funnily enough, when I moved onto middle and high school, I really only ever wore my diamond studs (two piercings now though haha). Now, in college I’m beginning to branch out again. I still mostly wear my studs, but I did jump on the ear jacket trend and now the hoop trend. I’m still not going to go crazy with the dangly earrings like my 9-year-old self, but I actually really love this pair from BaubleBar. They are a little crazy, but I think the muted colors tone it down. I would definitely set my go-to studs aside a few times for these lovelies.

Last season we saw the fur revival, mainly in fur vests. I have to say that fur is still one of my favorite fall/winter trends. I jumped on board last year with the obvious vest choice, as well as a long stole. There’s just something so luxe about fur and the trend is here to stay. I recently saw the above jacket when browsing lulus.com and thought it was just so cute. I also saw this burgundy version from Forever21 and this extra fuzzy one from asos.

The final item on my edit is a cable knit sweater. I love the oversized grandpa sweater look.  I think that when done right, the effect is incredibly chic. I also really like that this sweater has a turtleneck. For the longest time I absolutely hated turtlenecks, but now I’ve done a complete 360 and am in love! If I do get this sweater, I’ll definitely buy a bigger size than normal to achieve the oversized look. I also recommend buying one from the mens department for the same effect.

That’s all I have for this week, if you enjoyed please give me a follow and don’t be afraid to comment below!
